Give me Homework!
May. 6th, 2009 | 01:16 pm
I first got into Photography when i was a kid. It was more because i loved playing with the camera than anything about the pictures. I stopped when i was a teenager as i got into gaming and comics. I got back into it when i was playing with my mother's P&S and a friend after a wedding. We had so much fun, i decided to buy a camera and shoot her. Here is some of what came about: http://ryusen.smugmug.com/Models/376275 Shortly after she was out of my life, i bought my first DSLR and a zoom lens. http://ryusen.smugmug.com/gallery/65503 62_pCajo#416761157_6DkVZ. I mostly did nature and beach shots for a while, then i discovered cosplayers. http://ryusen.smugmug.com/Cosplay
For a long time, my idea of photography was if i see something that caught my eye, i wanted to show other people. That was cool for a few years. Now i'm looking at my photography also as a means of personal growth. I am trying to learn new things. New ways to position lights from my "safe" patters i learned at first and what not.
This is where you can help. I want people to give me assignments/homework. They can be anything really. I'll consider anything that the logistics aren't impossible or too difficult for me. For example, anything where i don't have access to the people, the locations, or stuff for is automatically out. So is there anything you've ever wanted to see me shoot? Just respond here and i'll look into it.

According to "research" done by my radio morning show, the most common given name int he world is, "Mohamed." The most common family name is, "Chen." So... all we need is a Chinese Muslim and we will have the stereotype human being. A Global version of Glen Miyashiro.

I prefer an 8 to a ten, because once you get her sideways, she's infinity.

Random thought of the day: Tuxedo Kamen...
Sep. 28th, 2007 | 08:53 am
Despite the fact that i have several friends here to cosplay Sailor Moon-ish stuff, i don't really care for the series. Then again.. most cosplay for me is an appreciation of the costume than the series, since i really don't watch much anime at all lately. I was just looking at someone's recent update to their site and noticed Tuxedo Kamen.
I thought to myself.. Tuxedo Kamen is like the single male cheerleader. I was at a school there had one guy on the cheer leading squad. He got teased senselessly. I'm sure you know.. "real men" would make fun of any guy that dressed as TK and his sexuality... until you think about the fact that he's usually the one surrounded by the hot girls in the short skirts...
And that is my pervert insight of the day.
Note: I know not all sailor moon cosplayers are hot girls (some don't even qualify for the later), but the ones i know happen to be.

This came up at some ungodly hour when the topic of conversation somehow hit Britteny Spears:
"You can take the trash out of the Trailer Park, but you can't take the Trailer Park out of the Trash."

relationships and are like ice cream and magic shell
what i most crave, when i want dessert is the ice cream
the substance.. the comfort, the companionship... the meat of the dessert
on the other hand... when you smother the ice cream in magic shell.. it is just that much better
but of course.. there are people who just might eat the magic shell... skip the ice cream

New words
Jan. 5th, 2005 | 12:07 pm
Hi all, hope you had a good new year... so i'm adding some new owrds to my vocabulary and i'd thought i'd share:
notironic: to describe odd coincidences and funny occurances, that truly are not ironic, but far too often get called ironic. for example; "after waiting in line for hours to get a picture of his favorite actress george finally spots her. he clicks the shot, just before she enters her limo. when geroge get's home, he realizes he forgot to remoe his lens cap, isn't it notironic?"
From Dictionary.com:
Usage Note: The words ironic, irony, and ironically are sometimes used of events and circumstances that might better be described as simply “coincidental” or “improbable,” in that they suggest no particular lessons about human vanity or folly.
melvinism: an idea that is so outside the box, that one wonders if the speaker has ever seen a box before. (note: it is named for my gf's brother). Other forms of the word could be "to pull a melvin," "that's very melvin," etal.
sidewhack: the "other" person in an illicit relationship. this originates from said Melvin above.
